| Basin and Range Regional Carbonate-rock Aquifer System The BARCAS study was conducted to assess the water resources of the alluvial and
carbonate aquifers in White Pine County, Nevada, and surrounding areas. As a part of this study, reports describing
(1) the water quality in the BARCAS study area, recharge altitudes, groundwater flow paths and groundwater
residence time; (2) chloride mass balance recharge estimates; (3) DSC models that account for groundwater recharge,
discharge, and inter- and intra-basin flow; (4) uncertainty analysis of groundwater discharge estimates; (5)
methods for mapping desert shrubs in groundwater discharge areas; (6) assessment of evapotranspiration mapping
units; and (7) comparison of evapotranspiration rates from phreatophytic vegetation using different eddy
correlation techniques. Detailed project reports are provided in the following links.
